All meal plans contain two different types "money" to spend -- meal swipes and Dining Dollars. Meal swipes can be used in the dining rooms are valid for one semester. Dining Dollars can be used at any campus dining location and are valid for the academic year. (Any Dining Dollars balances left over in December will carry over to the Spring semester.)

  • What meal plan am I allowed to have?

Students living on campus are required to carry an On Campus Meal Plan throughout the academic year (per the Housing and Dining contract).

First-year students living on campus can choose from one of two On Campus Meal Plans. If you are considered a sophomore or above in standing (at least 20 years old or 20 earned credit hours by the university-published drop deadline), you can choose from two additional On Campus Meal Plan options.

Students who are a sophomore or above in standing who live in Lawrenson Hall, the Arlington Park Apartments, or one of the ¹ú²úAV-owned houses are exempt from the meal plan requirement. They can choose to carry any meal plan available, just Dining Dollars, or no meal plan.

Students living off campus can choose from any meal plan offered, including On Campus Meal Plans, Off Campus Bear Plans, just Dining Dollars, or nothing at all.

  • How do I sign up for my meal plan?

It's easy! The dining portal opens about 30 days prior to the first day of classes. (The date is usually listed in the blue box at the top of the page.) Once that date is here and you have registered for classes, you can login to the and make your choice. If you're not sure which meal plan to choose, you can always make adjustments up through 5pm on the Drop Deadline (10th day of classes).
