Scholarship Opportunities

Students in the College of Natural and Health Sciences (NHS) are supported by almost 100 college-specific scholarships. These opportunities, which total over $315,000, are funded by generous friends of the college. NHS majors are also eligible for many scholarships. Applications are through the Universal Scholarship Application process. Each year 国产AV awards more than $7 million in donor-funded scholarship support to our students, this amount grows annually. The application is available November 1 through on the 鈥淔inancial Aid鈥 tab. You need a Bear number to apply. There is a February 1 deadline for new first-year students and continuing student applications, and a June 1 deadline for international students, new transfer, and graduate students. 

  • Biological Sciences 

    The John Gapter Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in biological sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student; majoring in biological sciences with an emphasis in Zoology or Botany; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; and be a resident of Colorado. 

    The Higer, Harrah, Chadwick Memorial Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students majoring or minoring in science. Preference to Zoology parasitology ecology or closely related science; wind energy conversion, climatology, or global warming; Microbiology, immunology, virology, nematodology, botany, soils, or dairy manufacturing; or Ecologies of the prairie dog or ferret community, whooping crane, meadow lark, quail, prairie chicken, mockingbird, or Africanized bees. 

    The Higer Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Natural and Health Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student in the College of Natural and Health Sciences; be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. Preference for students majoring in Zoology or Ecology. 

    The Dr. Albert M. Winchester Graduate Fellowship in Biology is awarded to graduate students pursuing content research in biological sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a graduate student majoring in biological sciences or biological education; and have a cumulative graduate or undergraduate鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

    The Gerald Schmidt Memorial Biology Scholarship is awarded to a master鈥檚 or doctoral student in biological sciences or biological education pursuing content research. 

    The John and Anne Frey Scholarship is awarded to Biological Sciences majors with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular Biology. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a Biological Sciences major with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular Biology; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 2.75+; be an undergraduate student; demonstrate financial need; must agree to conduct research with a faculty member for a full academic year; and, continue to meet the University鈥檚 research and academic standards to receive the scholarship in the second semester. 

    The Biological Sciences Alumni Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate majors in an area administered by the School of Biological Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled full-time; be an undergraduate major in an area administered by the School of Biological Sciences; and have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.25+. 

    The William J. deAtherage MemorialScholarship is awarded to students in a pre-med curriculum. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be in a pre-med curriculum (not necessarily restricted to science majors); with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+; and, be in their third or fourth year of studies. 

    The Mary Jo Drew, MD, MHSA, Health Careers Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a healthcare related major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with an emphasis in pre-health, a healthcare related major, or a minor/concentration in pre-health; have a 3.5+ GPA; be a sophomore, junior, or senior student; and demonstrate financial need 

    The Beulah M. Moses Science Fund is awarded to students majoring in a science related field. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must major in anthropology, biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, earth sciences, physical sciences, physics; and maintain good academic and social standing. Preference to the area of Chemistry. 

    The Robert C. and Sharon L. Baldwin Math and Science Scholarship is awarded to female students from eastern counties of Colorado who are majoring in mathematics or science. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have 30+ hours completed or have met minimum entrance requirements; majoring in mathematics or science; female; from a rural area in an eastern county of Colorado (donor intent is to support students from smaller communities 鈥 Colorado Springs, Denver, Greeley, Pueblo, as well as suburbs will not be considered); be a US Citizen; has demonstrated longevity living in the areas identified. 

    罢丑别鈥STEM鈥疧pportunity Scholarship is awarded to students who have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram (including but not limited to the College of Natural and Health Sciences mathematics and science programs and the Monfort College of Business computer and information systems programs). 

  • Chemistry and Biochemistry 

    Dr. John A. Beel Scholarship is awarded to Chemistry majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a Chemistry major; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; be a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need. 

    The Bowers-Higer Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Natural and Health Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student in the College of Natural and Health Sciences; be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. Preference for students majoring in Chemistry or Biology. 

    The Joann and Donald Harris Scholarship is awarded to Aims Community College transfer students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5+; demonstrate financial need; and be a Aims Community College transfer student. Preference to Chemistry Majors. 

    The Beulah M. Moses Science Fund is awarded to students majoring in a science related field. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must major in anthropology, biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, earth sciences, physical sciences, physics; and maintain good academic and social standing. Preference to the area of Chemistry. 

    The James Schreck Chemistry Scholarship is awarded to chemistry majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a chemistry major with a pre-professional emphasis; a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need. 

    The Julie Zalikowski and David Cissell Chemistry Scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in Chemistry with financial need. 

    The Loretta Jones Scholarship is awarded to a doctoral student in Chemical Education. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a Chemical Education major and a doctoral student. If no doctoral students are available, the scholarship may be awarded to a student earning a master鈥檚 degree in chemistry or chemical education. Preference will be given to recipients that are international students. Award may be used for tuition, fees, books, or housing expenses. 

    The WeldWerks Diversity Scholarship is awarded to students who identify to the University as Black, African American, Native American, American Indian, Pacific Islander, Alaska Native, Latinx, or respective equivalent. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant shall demonstrate a high level of financial need with a preference for students who are Pell eligible; identify to the University as Black, African American, Native American, American Indian, Pacific Islander, Alaska Native, Latinx, or respective equivalent with a preference for students who identify as Black or African American; and be a citizen of the United States or Permanent Resident or has鈥疍ACA鈥痮r鈥疉SSET鈥痵tatus. Preference will be given to students who minor in Brew Science.  

    The Larry L. Miller Chemistry Scholarship is awarded to senior chemistry majors who state an intention to enroll in a chemistry graduate program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a chemistry major; have a 3.0+ GPA; be a senior undergraduate student; and state an intention to enroll in a chemistry graduate program. Preference will be given to students that are first generation students. 

    The Jeff M. and Stephanie M. Crabtree with Crabtree Brewing Scholarship is awarded to a student minoring in Brewing Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student minoring in Brewing Sciences; be majoring in any undergraduate program except Chemistry or Biology; and, have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 2.5+. 

    The Martha Maguire-Rosemas Scholarship is awarded to a senior undergraduate majoring in Chemistry and seeking teaching licensure. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Chemistry and seeking teaching licensure; a senior undergraduate; a United States Citizen; and a Colorado Resident. The scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the highest鈥疓PA鈥痺ho meets this criteria. 

    The Wild Rose Chemistry Award is awarded to students enrolled in a chemistry major in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a chemistry major; be in good academic standing with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 2.0+; be a sophomore or junior level student; and, demonstrate contributions in award, research, or service to the discipline of chemistry or the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. 

    The Chemistry Transfer Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to transfer chemistry majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; demonstrate strong interest and academic background in math and science; designate a Chemistry major; have a prior cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; and transfer a minimum of 24 credit hours from a community college within 24 months prior to the application. 

    罢丑别鈥ACS-Hach Land Grant Scholarship is awarded to chemistry and biochemistry majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in chemistry and biochemistry or a graduate student pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in education who has earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline; maintain a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.; and express their intention to become a high school chemistry teacher after earning pursued degree. Each scholar must agree to submit a brief annual written statement to the Donor describing their career status for the first five years following graduation. 

    The Mary Jo Drew, MD, MHSA, Health Careers Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a healthcare related major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with an emphasis in pre-health, a healthcare related major, or a minor/concentration in pre-health; have a 3.5+ GPA; be a sophomore, junior, or senior student; and demonstrate financial need. 

    The Robert C. and Sharon L. Baldwin Math and Science Scholarship is awarded to female students from eastern counties of Colorado who are majoring in mathematics or science. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have 30+ hours completed or have met minimum entrance requirements; majoring in mathematics or science; female; from a rural area in an eastern county of Colorado (donor intent is to support students from smaller communities 鈥 Colorado Springs, Denver, Greeley, Pueblo, as well as suburbs will not be considered); be a US Citizen; has demonstrated longevity living in the areas identified.

    The Karen James Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; have 60+ credit hours completed; demonstrate financial need; is a Colorado Resident; and intends to use their physical science education for teacher education at the secondary level. 

    The Philip Ross Bachenberg Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a physical science major (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Astronomy). To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; must have a declared major in one of the physical sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Astonomy); have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; and must be nearing completion of their sophomore year, a junior, a senior or a graduate student. 

  • Communication Sciences and Disorders 

    The Communication Disorders Alumni Award is awarded to first year graduate students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. Students awarded graduate assistant positions are not eligible. 

    The McArthur Scholarship Award is awarded to audiology majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student; in good standing with the University and a Colorado resident. This opportunity is based on talent, future promise and demonstrated ability. 

    The Kathleen and Daniel Fahey Audiology and Speech-Language Sciences Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in an Audiology and Speech-Language program who have expressed an explicit need for the award through a letter to the鈥疉SLS鈥痯rogram coordinator. 

    The Phelps Family Speech-Language Pathology Graduate鈥疌AP鈥疭cholarship is awarded to a graduate student enrolled in the Speech-Language Pathology Master鈥檚 Degree program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time equivalent graduate student who is a citizen of the United States or Permanent Resident or has鈥疍ACA鈥痮r鈥疉SSET鈥痵tatus; must be enrolled on-campus in the Speech-Language Pathology Master鈥檚 Degree program; must be a graduate of the University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Sciences/Communication Sciences and Disorders within the twenty-one (21) months prior to commencing the graduate program and the Scholarship being applied to the student鈥檚 account; demonstrate financial need as determined by the University; and not be a dependent of a鈥鶤V鈥痚mployee.  

    The Dr. Vinnie Scalia Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with specified majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student; majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology, or recreation; and a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

  • Earth and Atmospheric Sciences 

    The Beulah M. Moses Science Fund is awarded to students majoring in a science related field. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must major in anthropology, biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, earth sciences, physical sciences, physics; and maintain good academic and social standing. Preference to the area of Chemistry. 

    The Shropshire Geology student Scholarship is awarded to a geology student. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in geology or a graduate student with a geology emphasis. 

    The Leslie and Dorothee Trowbridge Earth Science Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate Earth Science Secondary Education majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an Earth Science Secondary Education major; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.25+; and be in their sophomore, junior or senior year. 

    The Richard A. Whiteside Earth Sciences Scholarship is awarded to a qualifying earth sciences major, with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. Preference to Meteorology emphasis. 

    Sally Jo Roberts Memorial Earth Science Scholarship 

    The Earth Sciences Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in an area administered by the Earth Sciences Department. 

    The Johnathan Skinner Meteorology/Media Studies-Journalism Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a major emphasis in Meteorology and a demonstrated interest in Media Studies/Journalism, or a major emphasis in Journalism with a minor in Earth Sciences, or a double major emphases in Journalism and Meteorology. 

    罢丑别鈥PDC鈥疎nergy Scholarship is awarded to students that have an interest in the oil and gas industry. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Business or seeking a degree in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, with preference given to Geology majors; be a junior or senior student; and, be a non-traditional and/or first generation student, or demonstrate financial need. Preference for recipients to have an interest in the oil and gas industry. If internships are available, the Donor intends to consider recipients for an internship opportunity at the Donor鈥檚 place of business. If agreed upon by the student, the Donor is able to feature the student recipient(s) in a community impact publication or similar promotional material(s). 

    The Element Services Scholarship is awarded to students who have an expressed interest in entering the oil and gas industry. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a major of Earth Sciences 鈥 Geology Emphasis, Mathematics 鈥 Applied Mathematical Sciences Emphasis, or Physics; have a 3.0+鈥疓PA; be a sophomore, junior or senior; and, have an expressed interest in entering the oil and gas industry.

Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need. 

    罢丑别鈥STEM鈥疧pportunity Scholarship is awarded to students who have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram (including but not limited to the College of Natural and Health Sciences mathematics and science programs and the Monfort College of Business computer and information systems programs). 

    The Karen James Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; have 60+ credit hours completed; demonstrate financial need; is a Colorado Resident; and intends to use their physical science education for teacher education at the secondary level. 

  • Health Sciences 

    The Dr. Vinnie Scalia Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with specified majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student; majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology, or recreation; and a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

    The Mary Jo Drew, MD, MHSA, Health Careers Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a healthcare related major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with an emphasis in pre-health, a healthcare related major, or a minor/concentration in pre-health; have a 3.5+ GPA; be a sophomore, junior, or senior student; and demonstrate financial need. 

  • KiND鈥擭utrition and Dietetics 

    The Rhoda M. Karr Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students from any high school located in Roaring Fork School District RE-1 that have a major or focused area of study in Nutrition or Dietetics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a major or focused area of study in Nutrition or Dietetics; be an undergraduate or graduate student; and be from any high school located in Roaring Fork School District RE-1 of the State of Colorado. 

    The Florence Fish Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in dietetics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time female student; majoring in dietetics. Incoming freshmen must be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class and submit a letter of intent indicating why the student wants to be a dietitian. Sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students must have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

    The Home Economics and Homemaking Scholarship is awarded to a dietetics major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in dietetics; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; be a junior or senior; and demonstrate leadership ability and financial need. 

    The Mildred Gueck Dietetics Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students majoring in nutrition and dietetics. 

    The Dr. Vinnie Scalia Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with specified majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student; majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology, or recreation; and a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

  • KiND鈥擲port and Exercise Sciences

    The Betty Everett Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in Sports and Exercise Science: Physical Education K-12. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Sports and Exercise Science: Physical Education K-12; and, must be an undergraduate student. 

    The Dan Libera Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students in the Athletic Training Program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; in their final year of the Athletic Training Program; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; be a graduate student; has intent to remain in the athletic training profession; does not receive more than one other鈥鶤V鈥疭cholarship; demonstrates strong work ethic, sound technical judgment & professional accuracy; and demonstrates willingness to volunteer training skills. 

    The Jules S. and Obera Doubenmier Memorial Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students majoring in exercise science, physical education K-12 teaching, or sports administration. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student; must be majoring in exercise science, physical education K-12 teaching, or sports administration; have a 3.0+ cumulative鈥疓PA; and have completed at least 60 credit hours at the time the award is made. Preference for students who demonstrate high academic achievement and involvement in intramural programs. 

    The Jennifer Hudgens Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Physical Education. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in physical education; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.2+; and in their student teaching year. 

    The Kristin Weller Memorial Athletic Training Scholarship is awarded to students in their final year in the Athletic Training program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be in the Athletic Training program; be a graduate student in their final year of the Athletic Training program; demonstrate financial need; and, intend to pursue a career in athletic training after graduation. 

    The Tony Rossi Kinesiology and Physical Education Scholarship is awarded to kinesiology students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; a kinesiology major with an emphasis in physical education; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+ and/or the standard required by Professional Teacher Education Program (PTEP); a junior; demonstrate financial need; and is accepted into鈥疨TEP. 

    The Sport and Exercise Science Alumni Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate major in an area administered by the School of Sport and Exercise Science. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled full-time; be majoring in an area administered by the School of Sport and Exercise Science; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+ and be an undergraduate or graduate student. This scholarship will be awarded alternately to a student in the area of Exercise Science; a student in the area of PE K-12 Teaching and a student in the area of Athletic Training. 

    The Doris Steffy Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in Sports and Exercise Science: Physical Education K-12. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Sports and Exercise Science: Physical Education K-12; and, must be an undergraduate student. 

    The Stephen Rath Memorial Athletic Training Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the鈥疌AATE鈥疉ccredited Professional Athletic Training Program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled in the鈥疌AATE鈥疉ccredited Professional Athletic Training Program; be a graduate level student; and demonstrate financial need. Preference for applicant to be pursuing a career in high school athletic training. 

  • Mathematical Sciences 

    The Jill Shelton Braden Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Math majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a math major with an emphasis in Statistics and Data Science; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; and demonstrate financial need. 

    The Linnea Erikson Heiny Scholarship is awarded to students in the School of Mathematical Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in mathematics; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+; a junior or senior; and planning on pursuing a career in teaching mathematics at the secondary level. 

    The Sidinger Scholarship is awarded to graduates from a rural high school with a major or minor in mathematics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring or minoring in mathematics; and a graduate from a rural high school located outside any urban complex with a population greater than 100K people in AZ, CO, ID, KS, MT, NE, NM, ND, SD, UT, or WY. 

    The Luella Thomas Mohler Mathematics Scholarship is awarded to female students with an emphasis in mathematics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; have an intent to teach with a mathematics emphasis; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+ ; demonstrate financial need; and is a female. 

    The Schweers Family Memorial Award is awarded to mathematics education majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in mathematics education with the intent to pursue a career in teaching mathematics; a senior or graduate student; and a US citizen. The opportunity will be based on promise for future, demonstrated ability, good鈥疓PA, knowledge of field, enthusiasm, dedication, and good moral character. Need will only be considered if all other factors are equal.

To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate; have a major within an area administered by the School of Mathematical Sciences; and have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+. 

    The Mathematical Sciences Alumni Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the School of Mathematical Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; enrolled in the School of Mathematical Sciences; and have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+. 

    The Phelps Family Mathematics鈥疌AP鈥疭cholarship is awarded to an upper division undergraduate student with a declared major in Mathematics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student who is a citizen of the United States or Permanent Resident or has鈥疍ACA鈥痮r鈥疉SSET鈥痵tatus; have a declared major in Mathematics with a preference for those with a Secondary Teaching Emphasis; have junior or senior academic standing or completed a minimum of sixty (60) transferable credits to the University when the鈥疌AP鈥疭cholarship is to be applied to the student鈥檚 account; demonstrate financial need as determined by the University; and not be a dependent of a鈥鶤V鈥痚mployee

Maxwell and Dr. Sheryl DeMarcus Maxwell Endowed Mathematics and Physics Education Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in secondary teaching programs of the School of Mathematical Sciences or the Department of Physics and Astronomy. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled in secondary teaching programs of either the School of Mathematical Sciences or the Department of Physics and Astronomy; a junior or senior; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+; and be a Colorado resident. 

    罢丑别鈥STEM鈥疧pportunity Scholarship is awarded to students who have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a declared major in a鈥疭TEM鈥痯rogram (including but not limited to the College of Natural and Health Sciences mathematics and science programs and the Monfort College of Business computer and information systems programs). 

    The Robert C. and Sharon L. Baldwin Math and Science Scholarship is awarded to female students from eastern counties of Colorado who are majoring in mathematics or science. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have 30+ hours completed or have met minimum entrance requirements; majoring in mathematics or science; female; from a rural area in an eastern county of Colorado (donor intent is to support students from smaller communities 鈥 Colorado Springs, Denver, Greeley, Pueblo, as well as suburbs will not be considered); be a US Citizen; has demonstrated longevity living in the areas identified. 

    The Rosemary and Wally Stoelzel Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in education, mathematical sciences, or physical sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an education, mathematical sciences, or physical sciences major and be a US citizen. Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need. 

    The Philip Ross Bachenberg Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a physical science major (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Astronomy). To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; must have a declared major in one of the physical sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Astonomy); have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; and must be nearing completion of their sophomore year, a junior, a senior or a graduate student. 

  • Nursing

    The Agnes M. Biegel Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in Nursing; have a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 2.5+; be a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need. 

    The Debra Lynn Davis Memorial Scholarship is awarded to senior students majoring in Nursing with the intent to work in long-term healthcare. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a Nursing major; be a senior student; have intent to work in long term health care; and possess the ability to communicate a genuine attitude of compassion, respect and concern for the physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs of elderly patients. 

    The George and Marian Gates Nursing Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students accepted into the Nursing Program; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

    The Gift of Gardens: Nursing Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students accepted into the undergraduate or graduate School of Nursing. 

    The Wilbur E. and Dorothy M. Hall Scholarship is awarded to students accepted into the clinical portion of the Nursing Program. To qualify for this opportunity this applicant must be accepted into the clinical portion of the nursing program; and demonstrate financial need 

    The Alice Amen Heinz Nursing Scholarship is awarded to nursing students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in nursing; in his/her senior year; and an unmarried Colorado Resident. The applicant must be dedicated to the care of individuals and families in need of nursing assistance, demonstrate the ability to relate to patients, and intends to provide two years of service in Colorado after graduating. 

    The Dr. A. W. (Bill) and Dorothy L. Hermann Nursing Scholarship is awarded to Nursing students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in nursing; be a sophomore and have above average academic standing, show commitment of service to others and have a capability to relate to patients and families. 

    The Dr. Ginny Gramzow Kinnick Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students in the Nursing Program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in nursing; a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need. Preference to those intend to specialize in maternity nursing. 

    The Eva Kuykendall Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students accepted in the School of Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; with a nursing major; a graduate of a Colorado high school; and demonstrate leadership and commitment to the nursing profession. 

    The Shirley Meakins Memorial Award is awarded to freshman planning to attend the School of Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in Nursing; and a freshman from Weld County High Schools who demonstrates good standing and potential for success as a nursing student. Preference to Greeley high school graduates. 

    The Nursing Alumni Scholarship is awarded to a nursing student. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a nursing student; entering spring semester of their junior year; and demonstrate leadership roles in campus or community organizations. Preference to those aiming to graduate with Honors and/or showing successful involvement in health care or related service (volunteer or paid) in the past 3-5 yrs. 

    The John Henry and Margaret E. Scheidt Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students in the Nursing Program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be admitted into the Nursing Program.; demonstrate financial need; and be a Colorado resident 

    The Berta and Rudolph Singer Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students pursuing nursing or medical training. Preference for those demonstrating financial need. 

    The Margaret Troxel Scholarship is awarded to nursing majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; a nursing major; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; entering into their senior year and demonstrate commitment to service of others. 

    The Dr. Kathleen Gremel Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students admitted into the School of Nursing and pursuing a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be admitted into the School of Nursing and pursuing a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Preference for those who intend to specialize in public, community health. Preference for those who intend to provide service in Colorado after graduation. Preference for those who identify to the University as being Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, or Person of Color. 

    The Les and Sue McCarroll Nursing Scholarship is awarded to Colorado resident students majoring in Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Nursing; have a 2.5+鈥疓PA; be an undergraduate or graduate student; may be a current student at the University, incoming freshman, or incoming transfer student; be a Colorado resident; and demonstrate a passion for the field of nursing by submitting a personal statement speaking to their passion and interest in the field of nursing and service to others. Preference will be given to applicants that identify to the University as Hispanic or Latinx. Preference will be given to applicants that demonstrate financial need. 

    The Clarence V. LaGuardia Foundation Nursing Scholarship is awarded to Nursing majors from North High School in Denver. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a Nursing major; have a 2.5+鈥疓PA; and be a Colorado resident. Preference is given to undergraduate students. 

    The Echo Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student with a major in Nursing and in the Clinical Phase of the Nursing Program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with a major in Nursing and in the Clinical Phase of the Nursing Program when the scholarship is awarded; must be a junior or senior student; and must be a graduate from one of the following Colorado high schools: Jefferson High School (Edgewater), Bear Creek High School, Abraham Lincoln High School, Alameda High School, or John F. Kennedy High School. 

    The Ann Britt Teague Memorial Scholarship is awarded to nursing students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a nursing student; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.5+; a junior; and demonstrate evidence of leadership qualities. 

    The Hummel Family Scholarship in the School of Nursing is awarded to students who attend the University and who desire to obtain an undergraduate degree from the School of Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at the University; have been admitted to 国产AV鈥檚 School of Nursing (classified as 鈥淣ursing 鈥 Admitted鈥, and desire to obtain an undergraduate degree from the School of Nursing; have a minimum cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 2.75+ out of 4.0 (or the corresponding grade if the 4.0鈥疓PA鈥痵cale is not used); be an undergraduate third or fourth year Nursing student; demonstrate financial need; and, be in good academic standing with the University. Preference shall be given to applicants with demonstrated contributions to society (e.g. volunteerism, good citizenship, extra-curricular activities) and applicants who are part of the first generation of their family to attend college. This award will be split over the fall, spring, and summer semesters the year the recipient is attending the summer session. 

    The Chevron Scholarship Fund 鈥 Nursing is awarded to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing program; be in good academic standing; display financial need; and identify as a minority student. Preference for Colorado residents from rural areas. For this scholarship, rural areas is defined as Weld County including Greeley, the eastern plains and the western slope. If there are no eligible students from these rural areas, other rural areas will qualify. If agreed upon by the student, the Donor is able to feature the student recipient(s) in a community impact publication or similar promotional material(s). 

    The Dr. Vinnie Scalia Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with specified majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student; majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology, or recreation; and a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

    The Mary Jo Drew, MD, MHSA, Health Careers Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a healthcare related major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with an emphasis in pre-health, a healthcare related major, or a minor/concentration in pre-health; have a 3.5+ GPA; be a sophomore, junior, or senior student; and demonstrate financial need. 

  • Physics 

    The Beulah M. Moses Science Fund is awarded to students majoring in a science related field. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must major in anthropology, biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, earth sciences, physical sciences, physics; and maintain good academic and social standing. Preference to the area of Chemistry. 

    The Florence M. Barnes Fund in Physics is awarded to students enrolled in the Teacher Education Program in the Physics Department. Preference to women. 

    The Peter Galovich Physics and Astronomy Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student majoring in Physics. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; be a physics major; have a 3.0+鈥疓PA; and be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student. Preference for recipient to demonstrate financial need. 

    The Karen James Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in chemistry, physics, or earth sciences; with a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; have 60+ credit hours completed; demonstrate financial need; is a Colorado Resident; and intends to use their physical science education for teacher education at the secondary level.

To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student; majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology, or recreation; and a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+. 

  • Science Education 

    罢丑别鈥ACS-Hach Land Grant Scholarship is awarded to chemistry and biochemistry majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in chemistry and biochemistry or a graduate student pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in education who has earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline; maintain a cumulative鈥疓PA鈥痮f 3.0+; be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.; and express their intention to become a high school chemistry teacher after earning pursued degree. Each scholar must agree to submit a brief annual written statement to the Donor describing their career status for the first five years following graduation. 

    The MacCracken Memorial Award is awarded to graduate level students with an interest in elementary or middle school science and/or science teacher education. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a primary interest in elementary or middle school science and/or science teacher education and be a graduate level student. Selection process will be based on鈥疓PA,鈥疓RE鈥(if available), teaching experience, and transcripts of academic work. Preference for elementary and/or middle school teaching experience. Award is not based on criteria of need. 

    The Edith M. Selberg Scholarship is awarded to science education majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in science education; show outstanding academic achievement; and demonstrate ability in the field, and future promise. 

    The Robert Sund Memorial Award is awarded to a qualifying graduate student with the intent to become a certified science teacher or furthering career in science education; the applicant must demonstrate promise and financial need. 

    The Rodger W. Bybee Scholarship Fund is awarded to first generation college students who intend to enter the field of science education. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must intend to enter the field of science education; have earned at least 60 credit hours; and, be a first generation college student. Preference shall be a student with an earth science or biology major. 

    The Martha Maguire-Rosemas Scholarship is awarded to a senior undergraduate majoring in Chemistry and seeking teaching licensure. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Chemistry and seeking teaching licensure; a senior undergraduate; a United States Citizen; and a Colorado Resident. The scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the highest鈥疓PA鈥痺ho meets this criteria.
