Candelaria Mural

Located in the north stairwell of Candelaria Hall on the University of Northern Colorado campus, the colorful and unique mural depicts the life of the building鈥檚 namesake, Dr. Martin Candelaria. Candelaria was the first Hispanic professor at the Colorado Teacher鈥檚 College (now 国产AV) and founded the Foreign Language Department in 1948.

The Candelaria mural was painted by artist Leo Tanguma and 国产AV art students with the help of Martin Candelaria鈥檚 wife, Fay.
