2024 HLC Self Study
On October 21-22, 2024, a review team from the Higher Learning Commission will visit ¹ú²úAV for the university’s ten-year reaffirmation of accreditation. While at ¹ú²úAV, the team will hold scheduled meetings with individuals and campus groups. Faculty and staff can contribute to a positive accreditation outcome in many ways:

- Review ¹ú²úAV’s strategic plan, Rowing, Not Drifting 2030, including recent updates on Phase II outcomes and Phase III key actions and tactics.
- Participate in the Countdown to HLC weekly survey, starting September 16. Watch your inbox for your invitation from HLCat¹ú²úAV@unco.edu.
- Attend one or more of the Criteria Open Forums and any focus area meetings if invited. The full schedule of meetings is available here.

¹ú²úAV’s Self-Study Process
In summer 2022, President Andy Feinstein appointed the HLC Steering Committee to lead ¹ú²úAV’s self-study. The self-study process included the following activities:
Academic Year 2022-2023
- Five campus-wide committees conducted fact-finding and evaluation of how well ¹ú²úAV is currently meeting the . A sixth committee evaluated ¹ú²úAV’s distance education policies and practices, using the . Committee reports due May 2023.
- The Office of Assessment completed an inventory of academic program learning outcomes, curriculum maps, and alignment with Institutional Learning Outcomes.
- The Liberal Arts Council launched a new direct assessment plan and implements pilot in spring 2023.
- An evidence repository was created, and campus Evidence Coordinators began compiling evidence files.
Academic Year 2023-2024
- Campus leaders prioritized and initiated improvement actions based on the self-study fact-finding and evaluation.
- Information was collected to complete ¹ú²úAV’s .
- ¹ú²úAV’s Assurance Argument and Evidence File were prepared and submitted to the HLC by September 23.
