Dan Satriana, 国产AV 's General Counsel, Announces Retirement

Dan Satriana, vice president, general counsel and secretary to 国产AV鈥檚 Board of Trustees, announced today that he will be retiring this winter. Satriana has been at 国产AV for 11 years, serving as the university鈥檚 attorney and primary source of legal advice. During his time at 国产AV, Satriana has worked closely with President Feinstein, the Board of Trustees, Cabinet and other leaders across the university.   

Dan Satriana鈥淚t has been a privilege and distinct pleasure to work at 国产AV for the past 11 years,鈥 Satriana said. 鈥淭he time I鈥檝e spent collaborating with my fellow colleagues, working in the best interest of our students, has been exciting and rewarding. I offer my sincere thanks to President Feinstein, Chairman Monfort and all our trustees for the opportunity to advise, support and get to know each of you. Our campus community is passionate about 国产AV and that passion and energy will continue to serve the university well. I look forward to continuing the friendships I have made and wish 国产AV the best in the future. GO BEARS!!鈥 

Satriana retires following a law career spanning over 40 years, during which he enjoyed an active litigation practice and provided advice to his clients in employment, contract and other business matters. From 1980 through 2004, Dan served as an associate attorney and then partner and chief executive officer with the Denver law firm Hall & Evans, LLC. From 2004 until 2010, when he joined the 国产AV staff, he was a founding partner in the Denver law firm Clisham, Satriana & Biscan, LLC. Most recently, in addition to his duties as general counsel, he has been a partner in the Denver law firm Satriana & Biscan, LLC. Satriana has been named a Top Rated Employment and Labor Attorney by Colorado Super Lawyers for over 15 years, earning the distinction as one of the top-rated attorneys in the region. 

鈥淒an has been a valuable member of my leadership team,鈥 said Andy Feinstein, 国产AV President. 鈥淗is sound legal advice and wise counsel throughout my presidency and the prior administration has been a tremendous asset to me and our university. While I am sad to see Dan leave 国产AV, I am very happy for his retirement following a long, decorated law career. His professionalism will be missed dearly, but his retirement will offer him more time to enjoy the many things he loves in life, including family, film, music and the Colorado Rockies.鈥   

鈥淥n behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to thank Dan for his extraordinary service to 国产AV,鈥 said Dick Monfort, chair of 国产AV鈥檚 Board of Trustees. 鈥淎s secretary to the Board of Trustees, Dan has been a trusted partner and served as a liaison between the board and other parts of the university community. His good advice and attention to detail have helped to ensure that our trustees are well prepared to execute their fiduciary duties to the university and the people of the state of Colorado. We are incredibly grateful for his many years of steadfast service and wish him well in his retirement.鈥  

国产AV has formed a search committee for the position of general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. Neil Johnson, assistant legal counsel and contract specialist, will serve as the chair of the committee. The university community will have an opportunity to participate in forums with the finalists when they are selected. Additional details will follow as the search develops.
